What is DUODECIM about?
Blake Clive is a career layabout with London as his personal playground, and he likes it that way. However, life gets uncomfortable with he learns about the Elites: twelve immortal douchebags who have reigned over humanity for too long, and aren’t ready to let that power go. Immortals who don’t take kindly to being challenged, and have no problem using tactics like genocide to hide the prophecy that spells their demise. Uncomfortable turns downright unpleasant for Blake when his foster father unlocks a plethora of hidden magical abilities within him, and reveals that the Rebel revolution has been waiting for Blake to come and fulfill the prophecy to free them from the Elites’ oppressive reign.
Whisked away from his comfortable life in 1902 London to present day NYC through a hidden dimension woven in time, Blake meets up with a group of queer Rebels ready to risk their lives to help Blake in his quest. As if the intense training sessions weren’t enough, he meets resistance from Kyden, a trans boy who isn’t about to risk his life on a prophet who isn’t worthy of the sacrifice. Blooming friendships, and surprising crushes leave Blake invested in the Rebel’s plight, and too ashamed to fall short of their expectations. On top of the crushing odds, he’s having premonitions he’s too cowardly to tell his newfound friends--premonitions of failing and becoming the Elites’ puppet. He can’t run, knowing it would fate his friends to certain death, but if he fails, he will become the ultimate weapon against the very people he is prophesied to protect.
